SOLD Bergara B14R Rifle and 22LR Ammo

-Bergara B14R Rifle. Right hand 18in steel version. Bought this locally and it shot Lapua Center X extremely well at less than 1/2in at 100y. Unfortunately I won’t have time to get into rimfire as planned. The original seller did some work on the stock, add an Arca rail and it looks pretty good imho. This rifle feeds very well and has smooth bolt close/lift. Comes with a 20moa top rail, 2 mags, a Bergara B-14R Full Port Muzzle Brake and a Timney HIT trigger set at 7oz. SOLD!

-I also have 2100 rounds of 22LR ammo that are mostly CCI Standard Velocity. These did not shoot as well as the Center X but still great for cheap plinking. $150

Prices include shipping and insurance on me. Zelle or PP F&F. US50 only. Cross posted.

Scope and mount for Ruger SFAR 6.5 Creedmoor and DD5 V5

I currently have a Ruger SAFAR ( got it for a great deal couldnt pass it up) in 6.5 with a DD5 V5 in 6.5 on the way. My question is what is the best power scope for shooting. I'll be shooting 300 to about 800 yards. I also would like to know ow the best scope mount. Should I go Canteliver mount on both or would regular scope rings work ( I've read that scope rings need to be extra high) any help or opinions on thos matter would be great. This is my first post so I need the Info.

SAC "The seating die" horrible runout

Recently loaded up ammo for last weekends match. 22gt 90 atips 35.8gr H4350. I have a zero press, tossed the new SAC seating die in. Seated 20 bullets and had a range of 007 to 003 total indicated runout, avg around 004. Removed the die, installed my Hornady 6gt seater with 88eldm stem in place. Seated the remaining loads for the match, worst measured total indicated runout was 004, avg close to 002. How can a company charge near 400$ for a die that gives crap. Results? I'll likely be returning mine. I was hoping to eliminate several seating dies with this one die, but I will not accept this poor of results for the premium price SAC charges foe this item.

Dasher PSI & GRT Questions

I’ve been shooting a Dasher for a number of years, currently on barrel #3, and have had great accuracy and success competing with the Dasher.

That being said, my go to load with 108 Berger’s coated with Tungsten Disulphide (WS2), N140, Tula 556M primers in Lapua BR cases gives me fabulous accuracy and absolutely no pressure signs. I started playing with GRT and entering my components, it shows my load just over 60K PSI, warning that it is over pressure and not to use it. GRT has a max Dasher PSI around 57K PSI.
Since the Dasher isn’t a SAAMI cartridge, there isn’t a PSI ceiling. I scoured the web and found one document from a Quick Load test that listed Dasher’s Max PSI at 65K PSI.

I have no intention of trying to get to 65K, just wondering if somewhere there is an unofficial standard for a Dasher’s PSI limit? Is 57K in GRT just an arbitrary figure in a relatively safe pressure zone? Thanks.

Accessories SKB I Series 5014 double rifle case, NC only

I have a SKB 5014 double rifle case, OD green, 49" long. It has a HDPE foam insert done by Brack to hold a PRS type kit, MPA BA, R700 clone with a 26" bbl, mags, bipod, etc. These are nice cases vs the pelicans, his foam is a higher quality vs something off amazon. Extra foam can be bought from Cobra Foam Inserts. It hasn't been used much at all. More measurements here, https://www.skbcases.com/products/i-series-5014-6-case-double-rifle-case.

$300, meet in the sandhills of NC, don't really want to ship this beast.

The 1 layer custom cut foam can be sold also if you don't need the case, $100.

Hornady Bullet Comparator and OAL Tool Measures over .050" too short

IMG_9603.JPG
I went through a process of trying to find my lands, building some dummy cartridges the other night, by turning up the bullet seating die micrometer tool, and testing each one in the gun (locking down the bolt). I tested the overall length of the cartridge before and after inserting into the chamber and locking down the bolt. I did this until I reached the point at which a cartridge became shorter by locking down the bolt, signifying it had jammed into the lands and locking down the bolt forced the bullet deeper into the case. I created a model cartridge that I felt best represented the OAL that would insert into the barrel and just touch the lands.

There were a few cartridges that did not repeat the overall length, after seating the bullet into the case with the micrometer die, and the overall length was as much as .015" short, when measuring the OAL. I figured this method could not account for the variation in the tips of the bullets or something, and I wanted to do better, so I bought the Hornady OAL Gauge Tool and the Bullet Comparator with a modified case for my 6.5CM.

I set everything up and inserted the modified case/OAL tool into the barrel and locked it down, and then pulled the cartridge out and measure it (to the 0give this time) with the Bullet Comparator tool. I then compared that cartridge to my model cartridge, and the Hornady modified case cartridge was .053" shorter than my model case. Whether I measure the OAL of the cartridge (head to tip) or I use Bullet Comparator Tool in my calipers, I still end up .050" shorter with the Hornady tools than I do with my model cartridge I created to just touch the lands.

What could be happening here?

LaserWorks LE-032 Riflescope Mounted Rangefinder

Has anybody tried this scope mounted LRF? Youtube videos are positive. Warranty is very limited (one year, and for manufacturing defects only).

Amazonia link:

Intended use is on a crossbow and a lightweight 30-06 hunting rifle with heavy recoil.

Main concerns:
Does it survive heavy recoil?
Does it last more than a year?
Does the warranty mean anything?

Feedback from anybody who has tried it would be greatly appreciated!

Rifle Scopes VCOG: 1x6 vs 1x8

Can anyone touch on the improvements between the VCOG 1-6x vs the VCOG 1-8x? My main point of contention is the brightness settings. The 1-8x has more settings but, is the highest setting on the 1-8 the same brightness level as the highest setting on the 1-6?

Anyone who has experience with one or both of the optics please guide me in the right direction. I'm looking to purchase one or the other for my 12.5" do it all, go to "pistol". I've decided on the VCOG because of the robustness of the scope and the AA battery life among other reasons. Also, I'd love to see some more pictures of the mil/mrad reticles for both if anyone has some handy.

Any help will be much appreciated.
