A new Foundation Samson short action stock. Configured in right-handed orientation with the Centurion grip, brass weights/arca rail/side inserts, inlet for the ARC Coup De Grace and Hawkins M5 DBM, in the beautiful dark distressed color. I test fit the action, assembled the rifle, played with the adjustments, checked feeding etc. and it’s just not for me. Includes both regular and extended length KMW cheek riser posts.

I have a 3-9x40 Trijicon Accupoint (Amber Triangle). This scope has been bomb proof for me on my scout 450 bushmaster that I use in the midwest. Looking to make a change in favor of something with a lower bottom end magnification. Visibly you can see the scope has been used and set in rings (Leupold scout rifle rings). Nothing egregious. My question is this: Why do Manners, McMillan, HS Precision, Bell & Carlson, etc. make their precision rifle stocks with the grip so far behind the trigger?

Is it just something that got carried over from making sporter stocks for hunting rifles? Is it designed for a different type of shooting? I mean look at the grip on this sporter. It's a country mile behind the trigger. That can't be good for consistent shot placement because your hand has to float, right?

Hi folks, I discovered this board from googling around for a rifle, and a rifle build, and searching for cartridge information.

This deer season is my first hunt, and while sighting in my black powder rifle a few weeks ago, I remembered how much I liked shooting rifles.

About me:
-former Marine (Sharp Shooter... four years and could not get that darn Expert badge missing by one or two points every year!)
-Eyesight not the greatest (see above)
-upper 50's
-NRA Pistol instructor with experience teaching small groups and individuals
-Duty carried a pistol for 15 years
-Professional not yet retired, but the career is slowing down and finally I'm starting to have to time to raise my head up from the rat-race, breath, and start doing the things I love.

Goals:
-Fill a deer tag in 2024
-Take a rifle course to learn how to use modern scopes
-Take a long range rifle class
-Build a modern hunting rifle in the PRS aesthetic that is lightweight, handy, and suppressed with good glass.


A note about hunting prior to a rifle course: I am confident to 200 yards and shoot 1" or less groups at 100 yards currently. It's my belief that I can ethically take deer out to 200 yards. I don't hunt alone, and have been coached on shot placement on deer and other hunting basics.

So I see Leica has units with full AB on board in the wild. I can't find much info on them, so I've got a couple of questions.
1. Is there any difference between the them other than full AB on board from the factory?
2. Sounds like you can upgrade/unlock full AB on regular Pros for a fee. How has the connectivity/easy of use been if going this route?
3. Any comments on how quickly (or not) dope gets displayed? My consideration is saving time for NRL Hunter.
