25 Creed Load Data

Kinda impulse bought a used 7 twist 25 Creedmoor barrel and have Lapua SRP brass coming with it. It's a shorter barrel and I'll be using it for hunting coyotes at night which means I'll be using 70-90 gr bullets but the 7 twist may spin cup and core bullets apart.

Anyone load the Cutting Edge Raptors in a 25 Creed yet that can share some load data? I have 4350 but I think that is better suited for the heavier bullets. I also have some Hornady Superformance powder which seems to work well with lighter bullets in the 6 Creed.

Would value opinions on bullets too; I would go with the 75 VMAX but this barrel will probably spin them apart if I get them much over 3000 fps (and I'd love to get them to 3200+)

Any input is appreciated!

Movie Theater Rogue Heroes on EPIX -- not bad!

Watched the first two episodes of Rogue Heroes on EPIX. Based on an excellent book about the early days of the SAS and the 'Originals.'

Series is pretty good so far... I like the mix of Swing and AC/DC in the soundtrack. Some good cinematography paired with some driving '70s and '80's rock. And the collections of vehicles (and the Vimy? Biplane they flew... Wow!!!) They spent serious money on sets and historical stuff for this one.

The book doesn't seem to menton French Agents or cross-dressing. But everyone has to be woke these days I guess. Even the British military in Cairo. Apparently.

The book is really good. Along with the original book by Virginia Cowles... the Phantom Major. Along with The Quiet Soldier and Go Go Go and CQB... some good books on the SAS. If the series whet's your appetite.

Series, so far, is pretty fun! I am looking forward to the airfield attack scenes when they get their Jeeps running!

Precision Rifle Gear TRG bipod

I sold mt TRG22 a few years back, together with the bipod. Now I find myself looking for that bipod again. There is something about that bipod, the simplicity and stability are unequalled by my experience.

I plan on hanging it on front of my manners LRH using the FinnAccuracy TRG adapter. Having said this, regardless of the TRG no long being available, for a few years now, the bipods I am finding for sale are still listed at +/- $500. Maybe I am not looking in the right places. Does anyone know where to find them for less? You'd think they should be discounted by now.

Are there any alternatives to the TRG bipod that you have experience with that might be better? I am referring to the Vison G4 (RPS) or others I might not know about.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Hey fellas, not exactly a sniper rifle but looking for some M1 Garand help if you have the experience...

1733386712253.jpeg

Over the past 2 years or so I acquired a couple of Garands from the CMP, all "expert grade". The one that I've been fooling around with is an IHC (depicted above) but I've been having some challenges getting it to feed properly.

I'm using newly manufactured enbloc clips that I purchased from ammogarand.com, and have used Garand specific factory ammunition to replicate the M2 ball ammunition from Federal, S&B, & Winchester and keep running into the same feeding problems.

The "expert grade" M1 Garand from the CMP is supposed to be pretty much gtg, new stock, new barrel, etc. but I've got to say this rifle is just giving me a world of issues to get it to feed properly and I don't think I've ever gotten a proper 'ping' from it yet after... 150-200 rounds by my estimate.

I've been trying to research this phenomenon and all of the suggestions seem to point to a weak ejector spring but as far as I can tell, the spring seems to be practically brand new and working properly.

The rifle is also properly greased (using Moblie 1 Synthetic in case anyone would care to ask) but I'm still not getting that desired ping/proper function from this particular rifle. So I'm reaching out to the experts here on how to get this warhorse back in the fight...

Could it be that all of the newly manufactured Enbloc clips are what's giving me fits or is there something incredibly basic/obvious that I'm just missing?

Cholesterol and Atherosclerosis

The other thread got taken over by anti-medicine howler monkeys and I think many here could benefit from some additional information. I tested high for cholesterol and since I don't trust doctors, or most anyone, I've been researching this topic for several months to make an informed decision about course of action for myself. The topic seems to be extremely complex and far from settled science. Some of my takeaways are:

The disease is largely genetic.
Standard lipid panels tell little about your true risks.
Most treatment protocols are using very dated understandings.
"Good cholesterol", HDL, is largely irrelevant.
"Bad cholesterol", LDL, is a small measurement of risk.
Statins were a best treatment approach for a long time but lacked understanding.
Anti PCSK9 inhibitors seem to be a very promising breakthrough and an alternative to statins.
If you are genetically at high risk you better get on top of it at a young age long before symptoms.

Here is an article I came across today that does a good job at summarizing some of the latest understandings. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/ot...1&cvid=b6eb6a7970a24495b61f92d71d4cd3ca&ei=35

Some of the most credible information I came across, (best I can tell), was from Dr. Peter Attia. https://peterattiamd.com/ He has a podcast on the subject of cholesterol that's like 7 hours long. For anyone that wants it explained in detail from the early history of Lipid research to some of the latest studies, I highly recommend it. It really educated me to the point I know my Doc doesn't have a good understanding on the subject and my health is in my own hands.
