@AIAW - So, how are you liking the TT H59? Were all your prayers answered with it?
Seems like a great optic.
I am pretty happy with it honestly. S&B 5-25x killer though - hardly. The way I look at it is if you own a few S&B's and are looking for something a little
different then the TT can't be beat. I see trade-off's in both. Optical quality is top-notch in both. I might give the TT a 1.0 where the S&B PMII would be a .98 optically... and that would be split between resolution and color aberration. Such a small difference there I wouldn't let it sway my decision. I'd be more concerned about reticle choices.
TT: No locking turrets (if that matters to you). At the same time, turrets feel astounding. Definitely the best turret feel on the market.
TT: Power ring is stiff. Some might like that, I personally wish it was just a bit softer. Same with parallax control. I also prefer distance markings on the parallax control, just as a general "preset" thing (none of them are truly accurate anyhow). Could be fixed with a paint pen. TT parallax is top-notch past 500 yards.
TT: Diopter adjustment lock really needs to be torqued down to hold setting. Considering S&B doesn't have a lock I suppose it's a plus there.
TT: One click illumination off/on for a particular illumination brightness is a good thought.
Could just be my observation (or I could be entirely wrong) but the S&B PMII seems like it may take a bit more hard abuse over time, especially in the turret design. A tad better sealed as well I think.
Would I buy another one? No doubt. They really need to get some reticle options out there though. If they had an MSR/MSR2 available for this instead of the H59 I would have been all over that. Perhaps a license for the SKMR3 would also have been a nice touch if it could be done engineering-wise.
I know a lot of people are waiting for the G3 XR to start making it's way out, slowly.
