I am a pipefitter by trade but enjoy shooting and working on bolt guns. Robert Gradous, Speedy B, and myself used the idea of Terry Cross and expanded it. We have taken an aluminum block and cut an undersized radius for a tight snap like fit. The hundreds of compression blocks are milled in and are used for grip and compression if uneven surfaces exist on the action. The lug wedge pulls down and rearward to ensure constant pressure on the recoil lug. I installed my Rem. TI S/A in this block without bedding screws and I could not sling the action out or even get it to move. I also tried pulling a recoil lug out with a pair of channel locks with the block in a vise and I could not budge it. We hope to have this block available sometime in 2017 with help from Thomas Manners of Manners Composite Stocks.
