Howa Mini Action Chassis Rifle

A buddy of mine's got one of the Howa Minis in .223 and despite the tupperware bottom 'metal,' stock and magazines I'm quite impressed with the action. The finish is smooth, the bolt runs very very nicely and it's pretty accurate with 50 vmax and 70 VLDs. The two-stage trigger's pretty good if you like 2 stage triggers. If their chassis fixes some of the cheap plastic feel then they should have a winner.

You can use Remington scope bases and Warne makes a 0-20moa picatinny base for a more rigid mounting system.

Something I have not heard anyone say is that the Howa Mini's actually a very close copy of the old, popular (read: expensive) Sako L-461 that's sized specifically for the .222/.223 Rem, PPC/Grendel, etc. cases. Nice to have an inexpensive alternative for the lightweight varmint rifles.
