Personally, after The Living Daylights, the franchise just became comic book action... so fast paced and Rambo-ish that it lost all appeal.

Though The Living Daylights was a darn good Bond movie. So is the one I am watching now... For your Eyes Only.

So what's the best Bond movie? I'm partial to On Her Majesty's Secret Service (though Lazenby was a hippie fruit)... Also like Live and Let Die.
But then again, the classics like Dr. No and Thunderball never get old.

And who can forget the really psychotic Zorin in View to a Kill.... and the great mini-jet scene?

Ok... we need some mindless debate and some escapism in these fubar times. Let's go back to the good old days and argue about Bond Movies...

PS.... Bonus for Best Bond Girl. Miriam D'Abo... so cute. But hard to beat Ursula Andress. Talk amongst yourselves...

Any of the early ones for me because Connery owned the part.

Honorable mention to The Man With the Golden Gun because of the car jump. It was done in a single take by an old neighbor of mine, Bumps Willard.

Best of the new, Casino, best of the old, always liked For Your Eyes Only

The ski chase was epic, the diving scenes were cool, the rock climbing, all of it.

Everybody's a Connery fan I never really liked his Bind films that much. Meh.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is the best movie - if the lead actor is not a factor. If Sean Connery would have been in it it would been epic and there would be no debate. It has the best story line and cinematography for the time. Not to mention Telly Savals made the best Blofeld.

As it stands - the best all around is Thunderball

I'm glad to see On Her Majesty's Secret Service getting some votes. Otherwise Thunderball. Honorable mention goes to Casino Royal.

As for Bond Girls, I like the bad ones. Famka Janssen and Caroline Munroe. If you just want pretty, Jane Seymore and Tanya Roberts. But, god damn, Tanya was as dumb as a back of rocks.

For me, Sean Connery is the best Bond with Daniel Craig a close second. Don't really care for the Bond actors in between although I will watch Roger Moore.
Roger was the best as he was the epitome of the classic English gentleman with swagger. Connery I didn't like as much as he was very one dimensional being less debonaire and more a thug in a tux. Daniel Craig just sucks, flat out sucks and I'll bet he takes it up the shooter from his fem empowered wife.

Her majesties service was outstanding as was octopussy and view to a kill. Live and let die is awesome, thunderball hell love them all except the newer ones.

Then ya gotta love "Never Say Never, Again."

Live and Let Die. Love the alligator farm scene and JW Pepper.

Sean Connery is the "best" Bond because he's the sentimental favorite I grew up with; I was 11 when Dr. No came out but didn't glom onto the series until Goldfinger screened in 1965.

But Goldfinger inspired me to read the books and the James Bond character was best portrayed by Timothy Dalton with Daniel Craig as the runner-up. Ian Fleming's Bond was completely unrefined; a hard-nosed cigarette-smoking (almost alcoholic) drinker with a short fuse and a Mike-Hammer-tough physique. Connery, and especially Moore, come off as dainty compared to Fleming's vision.

Sooo... my favorite might be The Living Daylights, but I've watched Goldfinger more times and DC's Casino Royale than TLD.

As for best Bond girl, that's easy... I'll go the contrarian route. All the rest of the Bond film women are dog-show competitors compared to the villainous Luciana Paluzzi:

They're great, at least IMHO... Everyone has their own preferences, but in the books Bond isn't suave, he's actually pretty blue collar - at least that's what I recall, it's been awhile since I read them.
gotcha, I should grab them and read a few. I do love the Bond stuff but the after Moore, I think it went to $hit. have I mentioned that I hate Daniel Craig lol

Goldfinger is the best and a seminal moment in Bond where everything came together, the women, the gadgets, the larger than life villain, the henchman, etc. that coupled with Connery pakyjng the role makes this film just a masterpiece of Bond. Connery also has some other great films like Dr No, From Russia with Love and Thundeball.

Craig had one great film, Casino Royale and the rest just got worse as they went along. He always looks miserable and you can tell he just don’t like playing the role. There is very little fun to be had in his films. Zero charm and zero charisma save for a few moments past Casino Royale. Fitting end that they killed him..took him out of his misery.

The Living Daylights, Golden Eye, for your eyes only and OHMSS are all standouts and just awesome bond movies for me and are worthy of any praise heaped on them.

I got to like Judy Dench, - cold as ice.

Fun fact, Judi Dench has been in more Bond movies than any of the actors that played Bond.

I'm a fan of Bond movies so I can't really pick a favorite but the top three are The Living Daylights, Golden Eye, and Casino Royale (DC version). This is no slight at Sean but his movies were before my generation, although Dr. No was pretty good.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Lauterbrunnen/Murren/Schilthorn/Piz Gloria/Dianna Rigg)
Goldfinger (Furka Pass/Stans/Andermatt/Honor Blackman)
Thunderball (all of the theatrics/special effects)

Funniest scene in a Bond movie ever. I still piss my pants laughing. Particularly the smoking high heels :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:;
