My 97 year old mother in law found a large box turtle in her cat dish in the back yard this summer. She's been putting down turtle food since then. It's still feeding every couple of days, but will probably go underground for winter soon. Pretty cool.

Wombats. December 1993 was visiting Australia and got to hold an orphaned baby wombat that was holding onto a stuffed animal. Can't remember the name of the place. Also got to hold and get pictures with a baby koala holding onto a stuffed koala.
They were scrapped and captured enemy ships.
The reason the Germans and Japs dont have a Battleship Cove or a USS New jersey to visit.
Those pictures and films always remind me of the Jack Lewis story about waking up aboard ship drunk/hung over, looking out a port hole and seeing orange (?) ships going by. Then going back to his rack, back to sleep, extreamly confused and in disbelief.
