Truism of life...but takes nothing away from what the leathernecks are doing.
After my wife retired, she worked with a charity for several years. They provided housing, financial aid, counseling, etc. for families (almost all single moms) that had fallen on hard times. No drugs, had to hold a job, attend financial and life skills training and save money, Most of the women they saw were using using the place because they were out of options and moved on to the next soft spot, sugar-daddy, whatever. She bounced about half for some type of violation.
But...a couple times each year a former resident would stop by and thank them and tell how she used that help to get her life on track. I guarantee these Marines are touching lives. God Bless 'em all.
