If you're from Texas you call them "Goatheads". During the spring when they were green, we played "war" with them. Hurt like hell when you get one in the eyelid...........so I hear. Thanks for the memory!

Yup. Everywhere here. When you get land combined with goatheads, grassburrs, burr clover and the occasional bull nettle you know you are living the rural life. Kids throwing them on each other and crying, dogs picking them out of their feet, finding them in the house in the middle of the damn night, stuck in washed clothes and scraping up your private bits...what's not to love? Nothing really gets rid of it but fire, a sharp hoe and years of work. Then the deer drag them back in, so it's all pretty much a futile effort against the invading hordes.
