There's a LOT of truth to that. I've divested of most of my good gear but fell into the both camp rather than either/or.
Yet, anytime there was a skinned knee or elbow the dumbfuck kid ran straight to the parent or elder in charge of this liquid fire and acted surprised and more scared when they brought it out.
And when they administered it, they made sure to poke and jab the worst place of the road rash with the dreaded glass poker.

And funny you mention Stop Drop and Roll.
Because as much time as we spent learning this as kids, I honestly thought that catching fire was going to be a much more common occurrence than it has been throughout my life.
I mean... only been on fire a couple of times. And didn't even need the whole drop and roll thing.
Betting most people don't catch fire that often? I mean, outside of Buddhist Monks, Richard Pryor or folks in Dresden.
