When I was at George AFB, just down the road from NTC, they would have exercises every 3 months. In the summer dozens of F-4s, huffers, trucks, etc out on the flight line and everyone in MOPP 4. They’d stay in in it until the ground personnel would start passing out. Yeah, it sucked.

In my opinion, JRTC is worse than NTC. At least NTC is a "dry heat".

Fresh out of HS went to work for a company that makes cranes. First or second day on the job, an "old-timer" tells me, "I need to to go to sub-assembly and find Joe. Tell him I need the skyhooks." I walked to the next shop over, found the break room and had a snack.

After about a half-hour I wandered back to my station and told the old-timer, "Joe said you had to go get them. He doesn't trust me."

I grew up holding the flashlight for my dad, grandads and uncles.

Hired on with a new company. Rigging up and it was hot and humid. I am sent for a metric crescent wrench. I go get in my company vehicle, turn on the A/C, lock the doors and lean the seat back. I actually fell asleep. About 45 minutes into the nap, biggest boss is knocking on my window. I roll it down about an inch and say, "Yes? Boss?" He asks what the fuck II thought I was doing. I said I was looking for a metric crescent wrench and quickly rolled the window back up. He laughed and walked away. I didn't go help with rigging up the rest of the shift. I listened to music, checked my email, ate snacks...
The next morning during the safety brief, big boss asks if there were any takeaways/lessons learned that should be discussed. The guy who sent me after the wrench..."The new guy isn't dumb"

Went with wife & kids. It’s a beautiful property. Staff is very nice. The food is just OK. Swim up bar, good snorkel spot with lots of small fish which is great for kids. Cab ride from airport might take 5 years off your life. We took the helo ride back to airport. It’s 25 mins as opposed to 1 1/2 hours of insane cab ride.

This will be my first trip to St Lucia for overnight.

Looks like the resort is an adventurous 1 hour 45 minute drive through the mountains and hills.

We stay at the Coconut Bay near the airport

Thanks for the info. Me, my wife, and 17 yr old son going. Heard some bad reviews on service but maybe they stepped it up. Which chopper company did you go with? I want to do the helicopter when we arrive and bus back when we leave.

You're the southeast corner and we're at the northwest. Looks like you could walk from the airport. Seems like a beautiful island. Hope we're not disappointed.

I believe it was St Lucia helicopters. The Royalton arranged it for us. They don’t run at night. I have 2 younger teenagers. You can walk over to Pigeon Island & hike up to the top Ft Rodney. Awesome view of Rodney Bay. There is a beach there as well. Royalton has a great gym. Son & I worked out together. Barbells, pull up bars rowers. They have live music at night outside. There is plenty to do without leaving the resort.
