That might be true, and I may be misremembering but I seem to remember being told that the volunteer infantry type jobs tended to attract the higher scoring ASVAB folks statistically. Maybe I'm mistaken and/or maybe I was just being fed a load of crap at the time but just sharing one experience is all.
