I know Vortex has been busy with the PST's, but has anyone heard or know if there are going to be more Razor HD models surfacing anytime?

Personally would like to see a 2-10 or a 4-16

I would dig a high speed Razor, then it would be about the perfect scope IMO, maybe ditch the 35mm tube for a 34mm and I would have few complaints. As for magnification, it seems just about right for everything really, maybe a 3 on the lower end as opposed to the 5, but even thats not a problem really.

What's wrong with 35mm tubes that a 34 would fix?

I have a couple of the 5-20's, they're really nice scopes. I too would like to see a 4-16 type range.

There's nothing wrong with the 35mm tube, but there would have been more mounting solutions offered if it was a 34mm tube as opposed to a 35mm, but alot of makers are starting to make 35mm rings and Vortex already makes a set of nice rings for the scope, so even that wasn't a big problem, it's just nice to have options.

Re: Additional Razor models

Gotcha. I'm running ARC rings on both of my Razors, IMO they're the best solution on the market. I've got the 30's on the NF scopes that I own too, after seeing how good of a job they did on the first one I have switched over completely and sold off all the other stuff that I have in conventional rings

Re: Additional Razor models

My contacts at Vortex told me they tend to work on one product line at a time. I don't know what the life cycle is on the Razor line, but I would bet you won't be seeing any new models for a couple years.

Besides it takes a little while to absorb the input from the field, design prototypes, refine them, etc.

They looks pretty neat, unfortunately they won't work on an AI.

I may need to check out a set for the 700's though. Interesting design, but they have stiff competition at that price point.

How come they won't work with an AI? I dont have one, I'm just kind of curious.

AIAE's use a rail that has only 1 recoil lug at each scope position, the ARC rings need 2 recoil lug cuts, so to address that issue they made someone on here a rail to go with his set of rings.

The AIAW actions have an integral dovetail rail so no picatinny rings work on them, you need the AIAW base scope mount with a radial pin on the Euro standard dovetail mount.

They do work on Badger M2008 actions with the P-tail on top.

The ones I have seen did.

Also, USO makes a replacement 20 MOA pic rail for the AE MkII and AW. I just never saw the need to replace the rail since the factory rail works fine with most rings and mounts.

Re: Additional Razor models

It is unfortunate that they didn't do a 2-10x FFP PST, hopefully down the road we'll see more FFP options from them. I'd like to see some low profile knob options as well.

The razor is out for me because the elevation knob is WAY too big, and the 35mm tube is a joke, it eliminates 90% of your mounting options that are setup for the standard of 30/34mm tubes.

I believe I read they are coming out with a capped turret/non laminated version of the PST. Though it was suppose to hit this summer.
