I have a bench/workstation that I built years back for doing suspension design/work. It is also perfectly suited to cleaning guns. One thing that would be nice to have is a quick release 1913 to “chunk or metal/nylon/etc” so I could flip my upper over, put the adapter on the rail and then clamp the other end of the adapter in one of the vices. Then I would be able to clean the entire upper, hose it out/down and lube it all without having to move it.

Anyone ever se an adapter like this?

I could make one but it would be quite a bit of work. I would rather just buy one if there was such a thing. Or something that had a 1913 QR setup on one end and something on the other I could machine to work for clamping in a vice.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I use a cheap AR riser exactly as you describe, think its a Burris or something cheap.

Problem with the QD mounts is that the throw lever makes it impossible to hold square in the vice.

The riser requires an allen key but its no big deal, I just tighten down 2 of the 4 to speed things up.

Nice, I see what you mean. I think I'll get one of those "high rise" units for about $10, mill the top flat, machine a "paddle" to go on it and screw them together. That would make cleaning a LOT easier on the bench. Thanks!
