i know that action screw torque recommendations vary form stock to stock, action to action. my question is the order in which they are best tightened. one first (front or back?) down all the way first or alternating til desired setting is reached?

Re: action screw tightening

Front first so you seat the recoil lug. Best to rest the rifle on its butt, barrel pointed up, tighten the front then rear.

Dont step up in torque, just straight to whatever setting you are going for. 65inchlbs is the norm for a lot of setups.

I just recently learned the Manners Mini Chassis is 65 front, about 48 rear.

Re: action screw tightening

I would tighten in 10 lb increments starting with the frotn and like the other suggestion, stand the rifle on the butt stock, and go from 10-65 in 10 ln increments.

For my rifle 55 in/lbs seems to be the happy torque..
