Needing some advice and suggestions. I dont have much experience with these, but handled a LWRC REPR a few days ago and got the bug. For that kind of money whats the best "out the door" package. Im not looking to piece something together or pay 3 grand for a rifle and have to swap out the stock, trigger, etc. So what do you guys say? Armalite, LWRC, GAP, so many choices!!!

And, Im wanting something that will shoot Sub moa with good factory ammo. Specifically FGMM, because I use that in my bolt guns.

Re: Looking to buy AR10 or similar rifle.

GAP, POF, LWRC, LMT, Noveske....will all shoot sub-moa with the right person behind the trigger. If you're wanting a rifle with everything exactly the way you want it such as stock, trigger, etc...you're not gonna find it but that's what makes it fun; making it YOUR rifle by adding what you want and removing what you don't.

Re: Looking to buy AR10 or similar rifle.

have GAP build you exactly what you want, problem is if you are fresh to the platform you do not know what you will like and everyone coming on and saying what they like is worth little since there is no clues in your post about purpose, distance etc.

Re: Looking to buy AR10 or similar rifle.

Noveske is about $3k, not sure why there are none listed on their site right now, but I'd give them a call.

They are Armalite pattern.

Re: Looking to buy AR10 or similar rifle.

Will be building my own. After looking at all that was out there and not liking how they were set up decided to build. I Think I am going to do a Mid length 16" match upper and make it look like the MK12 Mod X. Should be fun lil toy. Have a couple 308's but none in a AR10 build.

I love the fact that my Rock River uses FN mags that are inexpensive and readily available, but uppers are not interchangeable to MilSpec lowers. This is the only drawback. Something for consideration.

Re: Looking to buy AR10 or similar rifle.

I've owned a LMT MWS, LWRC REPR and now a Larue OBR....

OBR: extremely accurate, soft recoil, 20 moa base and an adjustable gas block to aid in the use with a can.

REPR: MOA rifle, a lot of unique features, runs relatively clean (as opposed to my DI ar's) and a 4 way gas block.

MWS: MOA rifle, barrel/caliber change, well priced in the market it's in.

Can't go wrong with any of them as they all offer some unique features but I will say that my OBR will be sticking around for awhile (TBAC 30-BA is enroute to run on my OBR... My ideal semi auto set up).

Best of luck with your decision.

Thanks for all the input. Whatever I decide will def. Get can put on it and get played with at 800 yards and under. Mostly under 500

Re: Looking to buy AR10 or similar rifle.

I think people put WAY to much emphasis on which magazine when picking a platform. Magpul mags are good and so are Armalite.. both are proven. Put all emphasis on getting the rifle that meets your needs (size, weight, use, etc). Write down exactly what you want the gun to do and them get your hands on the ones that meet those needs. Once you get to finger-bang um', select the one that feels best and has the best ergos for you. Buy once, cry once and be happy.

I'll add this as well, if you can't find one that fits your needs, build it. Good trigger and good barrel and a little hands-on can get you a nice shooter.

there is no mil-spec on large body AR's if there is a standard I would call it the DPMS standard

Re: Looking to buy AR10 or similar rifle.

Throw an armalite SASS into your mix......or most Custom builders could build you a great setup for 3k. Just don't forget about the optics......they won't be cheap.

Good luck,
