I am getting ready to order a barrel for my 338 Norma build. I was going to go with a 26" finish length, but would a 28" provide any performance benefit?

yes, higher speed with less pressure then the option the set the barrel back in the future.
the increased performance is more important to me than the added inconveniance of a long barrel.

Thanks. The reason I ask is I have read differing opinions on barrel length for the 338 Norma. Most say 26" is optimum and one even said 28" actually loses a little fps with the 338 Norma.

Thanks. That was interesting. I don't like the look of the short barrels so I will pass on the 20". I don't think I can go wrong with a 26" so I think I will just stick with that.
