epdesign,

Yes, I can flute most bolt gun barrels and I also flute bolts as well. Just decided to do AR-15 barrels since I keep getting requests and they look really trick. I can even flute a broom handle if you like!! Check out my site and you can see the different styles of fluting that are available. Thanks for asklng. Regards, Paul.

Prices start at 185.00 + 22.00 shipping.. Most jobs fall into this price range. But I have no problem writing a custom program if you want something really crazy. The increase in price is minimal. Regards, Paul.

Re: AR-15 Barrel Fluting - Pic.

That is sick... Can you say who makes that barrel? That's the exact profile I'm looking for but can't find it. I would want the barrel threaded so I can but my can on it... But it's prefect.

Can you discuss how the fluting can effect accuracy. I've always heard that fluted barrels can do weird POA changes when they start getting hot due to the stresses of the fluting. I'm pretty much an idiot about this stuff so I may be totally wrong. I do like the fluting, but have avoided it in the past due to this rumor.

How much weight did that barrel drop due to the fluting?

Thanks

Pretty nice looking.

FCB,

Fluting generally only saves between 4-8 ounces, on a barrel like that it probably only saved 4 or 5 ounces. As long as its done right it really wont have any ill effects on accuracy, although it may change the POI for the first shot.

That statement pretty much sums it up, although I have never had a POI shift on the first shot on any of my guns. And all my barrels are fluted. The barrel in the pic is a Lilja. Hope this answers everyone's questions.
