I have a remington 700 .260 1/9 twist. I will be shoot 120gr, and 142smk. Is H4350 the powder most people use. I have a pound of it unopen. I just looking to see what everyone else likes, or suggest. thanks

New lots are slower than old lots. I'm running 43.6 w/Tula 7.62 primers and 140 amaxes to get 2795 out of a 24" kreiger. I'd start at 42.0 and work up in .3 increments. Smk and amax don't mind jumps, so don't sweat the distances to the lands as much as finding the speed you want.

Look at the top of the main Reloading page in the Reloading Depot. There is a link there with all sorts of .260 loads. Here's a link but it's best to start up there before posting for not just the .260 but many other well known cartridges as there are pages of info.

43 grains of H4350 behind all 139-142 grain bullets seemed to be the ticket in my 1/8.5 26" 260. My best accuracy so far is with the 140 Berger VLD.

In my rem 260 with a 9 twist I used 4350 with 123 amax, but couldn't get less than 1 moa at 100 and 300 yds. I tried 5-6 different loads and the best I could get was .8" group at 100. I finally ended up getting my best group with varget.

Disagree. 142 ain't that long a bullet for 6.5 (its 1.375") and 9 twist will produce a stability factor of 1.4 to 1.5 depending on your MV. That's fine.
Lots and lots of guys using H4350 with the 6.5 medium cartridges and getting great results. Use it with confidence!

Using 42.5 H4350 in two 15" 260 long range pistols and two 28" Shilen barreled Savage rifles and all 4 love it with Hornady 140 BTHP Match.

Same specs as my Brux. I'll give the VLDs a try. Truth be told it's never seen anything except the 142SMKs. I'm seein a lotta 260 shooters in NEO, btw. I like it. Ya'll gonna be at the Rayners Ohio shoot in May?

Yup, been there 3 times for practice and one match so far. Will be there in May for the group get together for sure and also this weekend for the match.
Shot new rifle out there Tuesday with the same load the other 3 guns like and it appears one load will satisfy them all. 260 ain't picky at all on what ya feed them it appears, haven't seen a bad one yet.
Sure does seem strange seeing hits/misses though with a long gun .... almost seems too easy
