This Remy 700 308 5R started out to be a cheap build to shoot while letting the 338Lm cool off. Then I got a new barreled action from a hide member and decided to try the AICS, switched the pos trigger to a Timney, then I had to try the Atlas and monopod, after all that, cheap glass just wasn't going to work. This is the OCD rifle I ended up with. This thing shoots so I have no complaints. I sighted it in and chrono'd yesterday with twenty rounds. Went out today with the range stacked with people so I didn't put up targets and put 590 yds into ballistic calculator which is the farthest 8x12" steel at the range dialed 14.7 moa and hit just right, so added 3/4 left and hit one after another and was just smiling every time I heard the whack. I was waiting on the bolt handle to see if I needed a brake, no problem tracking with the 15.8 lb rifle.

They are Barrett x high 1.4" They were origanally on my Barrett that I had to switch to ex rings to get elevation. When I put the Badger med/high 1" that I got for this build, they were too low for a good cheekweld. 1.4" is a perfect cheekweld for me but sets the bell 1/2" off the barrel. I have a sight height of 2 5/8.

Really good looking set up that works. I love the AICS. I have only shot 2 5R Remington 700s before, and both were awesome. Shooting little groups is nice, but there's nothing like hitting steel at distance. Congrats on a very good rifle.
