Re: Need help new kid question again

Personally never owned a Zeiss, but have an IOR (same glass) and from other comments, Zeiss is a great scope.

The only reservation I would have is the reticle. If all you are going to do is target shoot, and use the ammo that the reticle was designed for then it will be absolutely fine. If you need to make rapid distance changes for competition, run different loads, or range with a reticle... a mil type reticle will help. But, I'm sure you'll get some better hands-on experience from others who have used the scope. All-in-all, for what you described in your post, I'm sure you would be happy... Zeiss=great glass!

Lol. are you a "tactical" shooter? if you are just shooting the Zeiss is a great scope. the glass is much better than the Vortex, warranty and CS are hard to beat with Vortex. it comes down to what features you want, the TactiCool PST or the plain Zeiss

I'm guessing asking about the Conquest means your budget is about $900, which won't support a NF.

I would get the PST because it has a lot of features to play with so you can learn what you do and don't care for (i.e., I can't live without zero stop). Save the $ for nice rings, ammo and future upgrade. Maybe even consider the PST in FFP.

If you decide you want more, the PST will sell a lot easier than the Zeiss.
