I want to know how many people are running the h4831sc load with 250 scenars. I see this load popping up a lot on the search. Hodgdons site has the max load around 86 or 87gr however my sierra manual has 90 gr as max with their 250 SMK most of the loads I see recomended as the money load are around 90-91gr with the scenar. since it is one of Zak Smiths highly recomended loads and its plastered all over the internet I would suspect several people are running that exact combo. What do you run? Do you even have a 338lm

SMK and scenar are different enough to warrant the diff chg weight. I shoot 87.5gr h4831sc with 250 scenars. smks near 90 for similar accuracy.

Edited to add: These are my lighter loads, but the accuracy is there. If I was shooting beyond 1300 and really trying to stretch distance I'd go with my faster loads.

88grs-89grs of H-4831sc has been my go-to load for 5-6 years with my TRG-42. This has worked well for the 250gr Scenars and the 250gr SMKs and now with the 250gr Berger Hybrids, which I was fortunate enough to be picked to test, over the past 2 weeks.

I've shot this combo out to 1000 yards, with nice reults.

The pic is only at 100 yards, but I used some Scenars for fouling shots at the bottom left/right of the Berger targets. I fuxored up the group on the right, but you get the picture. Velocities for the second day's shooting averaged 2881 fps at 88.5grs of H-4831sc, FWIW.

I've also used VV-165, VV-170 and H-1000 with equally good results.
