Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44- Good choice or not???

I am wondering if anyone has this optic? If so what do you think about it? I will only be shooting at paper anywhere from 100-200 yards, mostly 100 yards. Since thats the closest shooting range to me. Unless I drive a hour away to get to a 200 yard range.

Will this work ok on my Scar 17s or is it to big? I also plan on wanting to mount a Trijicon RMR at the one clock position off the Scope Mount for anything close up.

I can get the scope, Larue mount, Trijicon RMR and the Larue mount for the RMR for 1500.00. Or should I just buy the NF 2 x 10 x 32 instead?

Any help would be great. Trying to spend my money the right way.

A little seach might do you well. There is a thread on the FIRST page of the optic section about the same scope that was posted on the 25th (10 days ago)and has been on the front page ever since.

What stopped me from buying one is it's lack of availability in FFP

I have one. It is a great scope with great support and warranty. It has more features than other scopes in its price range. Glass is adequate; I do not have the problems Ilya mentions in his review except that parallax is very noticeable.

You don't need FFP for punching paper at known ranges.

fact- especially at 100-200yd. So not likely a detractor for the OP

You have a lot of options in thst power range.

IOR has a couple of 2-12 power SFP scopes.
The Bushnell 3-12 and Weaver 3-15 are excellent options as well.
The NF is always an excellent option.

If illumination isn't a deal breaker for you, the SS 3-9 is tailor made for this type of stuff.

I am interested to hear how you guys think the Viper PST 2.5-10x42 compares to the Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40.
Yes, I know the tubes are different sizes, illumination on one but not the other, reticle differences.
Specifically I am interested in durability/repeatability.
