A4 or A5

Re: A4 or A5

I am partial to the A4 because it's what I used for a number of years, and looking at it gives me that old nostalgic "back in my day" type feeling.

Other than that, I would suggest picking the one that balances aesthetics and ergonomics in the way that fits you best.

Best of luck.

Re: A4 or A5

I had to buy both and sell the one I liked least (A5). I have a little larger hands so the A4 fit me a little better than the A5.

As has been said time and again, definitely try before you buy if you have the option.

Re: A4 or A5

Shooting prone, I don't think I could pass a "blind" test between them.

My partner has an A5, I have an A4. Same/same for fit - on me anyway. I think my A4 with the old school extra-deep butthook looks cool...but the blocky forearm looks weird.

I say pick the one you think looks cooler - or the one you get cheaper!

Re: A4 or A5

Really need to hold them yourself as opinions only go so far in this matter. I've held both, own the A5. Behind one or the other the grip is going to feel very similar. I can't comment on weight and so on. I imagine i'll have a M40A5 build from GAP or something in my lifetime, wont know till that day. Always wanted one though.

Ditto on what turbo said with the blind test.

Re: A4 or A5

Txgunner if you are ever in DFW just let me know I have an A5 you can sit behind. Also if yor going to be at the Leonard match you can get a feel for it also.

Good Luck!

Re: A4 or A5

As stated by others the only good way to pick your stock is for you to handle both and choose which fits you best. I love my A5 but know those who dont. Don't make the mistake I made years ago and buy one without holding it first.

Re: A4 or A5

Berger King I may have to take you up if I ever get time. The only stock I have ever handled like this is the choate tactical, which is more like the A5 and I liked it. I like the thought of having somewhat of a copy of a M40A3 but not sure about the square stock
