GAP 10 20" 168 or 175 gr

Re: GAP 10 20" 168 or 175 gr

Shooting that far you will likely want to abandon the 168s. 175s are probably your best best, though you might consider the 155 Scenar also. I have shot the 155s to 700 yards with my 18.5" GAP 10 with great results.

Re: GAP 10 20" 168 or 175 gr

I have some 175s that I have not shot yet so don't know how well it will do. From what I have read here they should be great. I have only shot the 168s to 100 and have several at 1/4 and 7/16 in groups so far. I plan to work in the 175s in the next couple of months and go out to 400. I will post when I have had the opportunity. I want to try the 155s also. Good luck!

I look forward to hearing some of the info as well...

Can you post a picture of your 22" Gap-10. Sorry to the OP dont mean to hijack. Would like to see the longer barrel on this rifle. Thanks

Why are we completely getting away from the 168's?? I have a gap 10 18.5 in route so im curious... plus i use 168's in my rem 308... just curious... I have 175's to try as well.. along with 170's and 167's.. Ill now add to my list the 155's

The 175's perform better than the 168's at beyond 800 with the additional speed but no compromise in accuracy.

any of you guys have a good accuracy node recipe for a 18.5inch GAP-10.... obviously i know all rifles are different but lets face it if you've done the work already you can get me very close to the ball park.... I use Varget. LC brass fed match primers..

Try the reloading section.

GGMM 175's work damn well, an even better choice is SW 175's, either flavor

Re: GAP 10 20" 168 or 175 gr

Go with the 175 HPBT. I have read on this forum a fews back about the 168 HPBT's ballistics going to crap after 800 yards or so. It was described as a physics problem. The combination of the shape, speed and weight made it unstable as it slowed down...if I remember correctly. It might be worth looking for. I wish I had more information about that post. From personal experience I will say I have had better luck with the 175 and 190 SMK's in my bolt gun than the 168 but my range only goes out to 600 yards. At any rate, good luck and keep us posted.
