Rifle Scopes Spuhr mount tolerances?

Re: Spuhr mount quality?

I can show you some scetches on how the tolerances are and how we have solved things.
One thing that is VERY imporant though is the picatinnyrail on the gun.
Many guns (espeisally Remington 700) are not very straight and if the reiciver bends the picatinny rail the mount will likely not sit straight either.
So it's important that the picatinny rail is mounted fairly true on the gun, espsially when separate rings are used, but also when unimounts are chosed.

Re: Spuhr mount quality?

There's no worries with a Spuhr. They are of the highest quality rings available, and the price is well justified. For instance, I have taken my scope off my rifle several times to put on friends rifles, and it has returned to perfect zero EVERY time. In fact, it repeats zero better than any mount I have used or seen (Larue, Bobro, ADM, etc..). Its not a quick to take off as the examples, but it does repeat better. I think this is because when I put it on my rail to tighten the screws, the recoil lug has absolutely no play backwards or forwards in the bases picatinny slots. I'm obviously very impressed with Hakan's product.

Here is a drawing of the basic mount.
I hope that pretty well answers your questions, if not plase ask more:)
The 50mm radius (almost 2") is to make a soft start of the 17mm radius for the scope,I have realized that some scope can get harmed and get clamping marks even in perfect lapped rings, so therefor we put this 50mm radius there.
