Same same, makes no differance what the units are, it's the cosine of the angle.

Now, on a more practical note, you'll get a better result if you multiply your dope by the cosine rather than the distance.

Example: 500m sight setting is 14 MOA (4 mils) down angle og 30degrees
14 * Cos30 (.866) = 12.124 dial 12.25 MOA or
4 * .866 = 3.5 mil

^ "Improved Rifleman Rule". I have had good lucking using this method. Sierra also has a way to dope angles but its match intensive and works best with pre-done cards.
