The 40gr flavor stuff. How does this stuff do for "precision" .22LR at say 100 yards?? I've read decent stuff here and there, and just discovered that my local BassPro will stock it regularly and at a good price for a 'bulk' package. How say you Hide??

Good stuff, I use it to test guns and play with 2-3 guys on a sat afternoon, I run it thru win mod 52 target and a re issue heavy barrel 52 sporter, bought a box of 325 for 15 bucks at wally world 2 hrs ago. now it does not hold a candle to Lapua or eley nor is it as good as wolf match target, it is the best bulk I can run to town and do, very best

Seems for the value it may rather be worth a shot. I'll have to get a box to just try. If it winds up performing well enough, I could probably grab a few boxes of it off the shelf and be set for a pretty long time.

I run it in my Ruger MK IIs when I am plinking at the backyard range and it is just fine for that purpose. I pick it up at the local Walmart and they seem to keep it in stock most of the time. The best bulk ammo I have used.

Best bulk I have used also. I'm very happy with the accuracy for the price in my 77/22

    Re: Federal AutoMatch Target?

The AutoMatch seems to have a little harder lead and is probably one of the best rounds for auto loading rifles. I've had great "function" results out of my AR conversion kit but the accuracy suffers when shot out of a bolt gun. If you're looking for cheap plinking with "some" accuracy, try a side by side test with CCI Blazers (brick packaged, not loose bulk). Blazers are a little cheaper and shoot better out of my bolt .22 than the Automatches do.

    Re: Federal AutoMatch Target?

I have heard a lot of people talk about blazers being good for bulk. I bought a brick and it turned my 22lr semi-auto into a damn shotgun. It shoots terrible out of my gun. Winchester super x hollow points shoot better that blazer...out of my rifle. I wish it shot well from mine as it is cheap, but not so.

I hear you on that. CCI anything blows when being run through my rifles at 100 yards. Don't even bother with it anymore.

It'll be interesting to see how my CZ 452V handles this AutoMatch then.

    Re: Federal AutoMatch Target?

My 10/22 loves Automatch. My Savage MKII hates it, but likes CCI Blazer for short-range work. I have not bothered with Eley out of the 10/22, but the MKII really likes it.

    Re: Federal AutoMatch Target?

Just tried this ammo this weekend on the Lucky Seven target at 100 yards. I was impressed with the ammo's consistency. I will definitely choose this over the bulk 550 federal pack from now on. I definitely like the solid bullets of the 36 grain hollow points and my savage mark 2 agrees.

    Re: Federal AutoMatch Target?

I shot some of this out of my Savage mark II this past weekend and as the other posters said out of their Savages, my group was almost three times the size of the other 4 brands of ammo I was shooting. I thought maybe something went wrong with the gun/scope since it was my last group. I am going to try it again and compare it to the others one more time to see if I get the same results, but I was really surprised.

    Re: Federal AutoMatch Target?

Use the Fed. Auto Match in my Kimber SVT. It shoots as well
As the SK. One hole groups @ 50.
It also shoot bugholes in my custom 10/22
Best bulk ammo going in my .22

    Re: Federal AutoMatch Target?

The Federal Auto-Match shoots really good for it's price....better than most and fairly consistent with only occasional fliers (louder bang) but the price is creeping up for serious plinking days at the range.
