good set of ear muffs

Re: good set of ear muffs

Used Peltor for years. I like the low profile nature but hate the internal battery compartment (at least on my model).

Recently bought a set of Dillon and so far like them. Not as low pro, but they work and have an external battery compartment.

Pat's info is good, but the Peltor Tac/Sport trumps both of them.. I have all 3, and loan the others out and ONLY use the Tac/Sports!

Re: good set of ear muffs

I love my Howard leights! I where a pair of ear plugs plus the ear muffs. Set the volume to maximum and when you fire everything goes completely silent. They are excellent for the money.

Re: good set of ear muffs

I have used several but for quality and durability the Sordins are the best albeit heavy compared to some.
Get the Gel ear cups for whatever you choose and thank me later.

Both are good for what their purpose is but the Howard Lights are a little long for me making the cheek weld tough to get right ( they are in the way of the stock/too long). The Peltor tactical 6 offer a better cheek weld for me. The Howard Lights are more comfortable though for all day wear and seem to be better made not to mention the battery changeability. How do you change the batteries in the Peltors by the way. I tossed the instructions. Dumb I know...

Peltor makes a couple models that wear behind the head. I may even know someone selling a pair

Re: good set of ear muffs

I like my green Howard Leights. Sometimes when I turn them on, they are a bit slow to muffle the sound of gunfire so it gets a bit unpleasant. Maybe my ears are a bit sensitive although probably not, my hearing sucks.
