F T/R Competition Sinclair F class bipod

Re: Sinclair F class bipod

I have been using a Gen 2 for about three years now and it has done very well for me. It is somewhat heavy though, so if making weight is an issue, you need to factor that in.

I have shot maybe 50 matches with that bipod, with two rifles and it has been very sturdy. It think it is well-designed, rigid and easy to use.

That said, I am looking at either the Gen 3 or the Centershot to use with my next F-T/R rifle. The Gen 3 has the quick change elevation adjustment know which I think would be very useful when shooting at different positions and I understand it is lighter than the Gen 2. The Centershot is lighter still, but I am not sure it would be as rigid as the Sinclair.

For me, it will probably come down to weight.

Re: Sinclair F class bipod

The Sinclair is the most rigid bipod I've used. The Centershot has some flex. A lot of people like each one of them for their strengths. Determine if weight or rigidness is your priority.

Re: Sinclair F class bipod

Farmer44, the Gen 2 is not for sale, it has served me well and it still has a few matches before the new rifle is ready. Even then, it will serve as a backup for LR and primary for MR matches.

usftr, making weight is the primary goal, but if I can have the rigidity of the Sinclair and still make weight, I know which way I will be going. My calculations show that I can do it with the Sinclair Gen 3, I am waiting for the final verdict.

Re: Sinclair F class bipod

I have used gen 2 sinclair for 3 seasons FTR and will also vouch for its rigidity ,it also tracks very well on its skids .It is however not as fast to re adjust for height if you need to during a match ,so perhaps the gen 3 would be an advantage if you must have the latest. I find I can put up with the dis advantages just fine.

Re: Sinclair F class bipod

I have recently purchased a carbon fiber bipod from star shooter. I have a friend who bought one in january and he wouldn´t trade it for the world. They were being fabricated and now they are done, I recieved a email today saying that they will ship them out next week. The bipod is a l lbs 14 ounces, and is stiff, with no flex, it has great adjustment. If you are shopping around,I think it is worth looking into also.

Hope it helps

Re: Sinclair F class bipod

I looked at a Bipod made by M Werks, LLC yesterday. Verynice, well made and clean. It has a 12 inch footprint and an attractive price of 160.00, comes with attachment. I'm putting together an F/TR rifle and was considering using a Harris, but after seeing one of these I'm going to buy one.

If you have an Eliseo tube gun you need to look at his new bipod. I got one of the early ones with my new rifle, really like it. The way it's mounted keeps center of gravity low and mount is rock solid in the tube itself without potential of sliding in the rail slot.
