Gunsmithing Whats your thoughts on coned bolts?

I'm curious if there's a benefit to using a coned bolt on a custom build or not?

Coned bolts are for single shots.

Couldn't be further from the truth. How many Model 70's are out there? The biggest problem with coned bolts is the inability for most gunsmiths to properly work with them.

P-17 also. Supposedly to aid feeding but not necessary. You can also get coned bolts for Rem 700.

Ditto,and Yes they will strip/feed 223 sized cases from AI type mags.
The only thing more intelligent than putting a round peg in a round hole is the addition of a funnel.

That is one of the best analogies I have heard in a while.
