I work at a shop part time and rarely pay retail, then again I rarely paid retail before.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

There is one I found at a ripoff dealer for 699...

It honestly didn't look like a 5" barrel, but on the side it did say pro series written in gold. interesting

It looked like this -

but I always thought they looked more like this...

anyone know what's going on here?

He has been fishing for that price for quite some time now. Unless you actually need the slide to say 9 Pro on it, you can pickup a 40 Pro from Bud's for $570 and a KKM 9mm conversion barrel for only $60 more than his auction price.

Edit: Goes without saying you would need to buy mags as well.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

You think a month is bad? I was waiting for 16 MONTHS for one. Everytime I found one for sale someone beat me to it. They were scarce as hen's teeth for a long time, but they're coming back on the market.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Yeah, as I stated above, I started looking for one in October 2010. Finally got one a few weeks ago at a local dealer. Smith just can't keep up with the demand of them. They've drawn quite a following in the competitive handgun arena.

I know of one for sale right now. It's slightly used, but the guy will let it go for $575. He had some stippling work done to it, and a few other things if I'm not mistaken. If you are interested let me know, and I will give you his contact info. I don't know the guy personally, but he contacted me on another forum when I was looking for one.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

As for the 5" M&P ... do you have to have a 5" slide or is it just the 5" barrel you are looking for?

I own several, and to be quite honest with you my 4.25" M&Ps with KKM 5" barrels shoot better than my Pro.

Just food for thought.

If it's the Smith Pro Trigger you are after then you will be disappointed. I've done 3 trigger jobs on M&P 9 Pros in the past 2 months. Check out my video in the Gunsmithing section.

Good God man!!! Those prices are flat out rape!!!

I paid $530 for mine.

Oh, and by the way, Smith has improved their triggers in recent production guns. I wouldn't go dropping parts in until you shoot it a couple hundred rounds first. Just a thought.

I work on these pistols a lot, and the ones that I've seen produced after March 2012 have a cleaner trigger. Closer to the Apex upgrade feel.

Check out the gunsmithing section. I posted a video in there that will give you a 'Burwell' type trigger for the cost of your time!

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

If you can find a Lawmen's, try pricing one there. The one in Raleigh sells M&P's to civilians at MIL/LEO prices.

I got my Pro for less than $550 out the door and my full size for less than that with 3 mags and night sights.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

Are the M&P 9mm that much better than the original SD-9 ?
I have a friend who logged 60-k rounds out the original SD-9 in one year without changing a part .
.

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

i wish I could pick one up locally at those prices.

I have the money to buy it inflated, but I just can't bring myself to do it...

my leo/mil LGS will order direct from S&W but it takes about a year they said =/

Re: S&W M&P Pro 9 5"

I like the pro trigger better than the Apex. I have the 9mm and .40. I'm probably going sell the .40. I'm trying to thin out my .40's.

I think the Pro is the best value going. Trigger and sights are done.
