So Im still not settled on a stock for my new build using a Badger action.

I had been working with Terry Cross on one of his Sentinel stocks but he is still waiting on word from McMillan and it might be awhile. I dont want to miss out on some upcoming matches so I have to do something fast.

I really like the Manners T4A and I love the Mini Chassis but they dont make it for the Badger action.

Does anyone know if the chassis can be machined to accept the Badger or who does it? Also, which chassis do i get, one inletted for a 700?

Re: Manners Mini Chassis / Badger M2008?

personally, i don't see the advantage of starting with a mini-chassis if you are planning on putting a flat bottom receiver such as a badger into it. it is not an aics where you want a certain stock that only comes as a chassis. the manners is a glass stock and the mini-chassis is an option. if i wanted a glass stock and a badger action, i'd skip the mini-chassis and bed it and use the bottom metal of your choice. while i have no doubt with enough work a mini-chassis could be machined to fit a badger action, i feel it is a backwards way to go about it.

too true. You could even get a non-inlet stock and save some money. The badger is pretty easy to carve out even on a manual mill.

Re: Manners Mini Chassis / Badger M2008?

Tom told me they would no longer offer a mini chassis for the Badger Actions as they are just not needed on a flat action. You would be fine running a standard inlet, doing some bedding and run it that way.

Re: Manners Mini Chassis / Badger M2008?

That's what I was thinking, if I needed to have it machined, wouldnt it be just as easy if not easier, and less expensive just to go with a standard stock and have it bedded.

A mini chassis made for the 2008 would be ideal but if they dont make it, looks like a regular stock is my best option.

Re: Manners Mini Chassis / Badger M2008?

They only made 8 or so T4A for the Badger, Where's Waldo here on the hide has one and ive shot it, the machining on the tang area was a little weird and from what I heard was sort of complicated for Maners to do so they stopped. His shoots great but like the others above I would just run a regular stock bedded.

Re: Manners Mini Chassis / Badger M2008?

I am doing exactly that. M2008 action with a T4A and a chassis. Yes the V groove has to be machined off, but they will do it for an extra charge. I need to run a detachable mag, so it was either a mini chassis with no bedding, or an M5 and bedding the action. I personally dont like bedding, so thats what I went with.

Re: Manners Mini Chassis / Badger M2008?

I have a T4 with the Mini Chassis.

Got my Badger /6.5 Creedmoor done up and shot it at Woody's last month.

This was a new/recently build stock. It has the Gel Coat finish.

This was not a modified Remington Chassis. It is a specific made part for the Badger.

But to be totally honest with you, I would probably just go with an inletted stock (just like I'm doing with my other Badger in 300 Win Mag + T4A + Surgeon DBM)

Re: Manners Mini Chassis / Badger M2008?

Now that I have had my KMW bedded with the Badger I can tell you I would definitely prefer a mini chassis.

There are a few areas where the action screws go into the action that leave some very thin and easy to chip areas of the bedding. An all aluminum chassis, a mini chassis or even a bedding block would work better.

I understand that the KRG Whiskey-3 is being done for the Badger these days.. I could be wrong, but it would be worth calling as the ones I've had my hands on are really nice.

mk-you are correct on the KRG Whiskey 3 being offered for the Badger M2008 SA. Mine arrived last week, and my action will be dropped in as soon as it shows up and JD puts it together.

If there is anybody local who would like to try this combo out, get ahold of me, and we can set up a meet and greet.
