Mantis XLR135?

Never heard of it. Says it is "almost exactly like a PVS-14", 3rd gen., but with a built in 100mW IR laser with a "range of 10km". Comes with an ARMS 17 mount and also appears to mount to a helmet or skullcrusher by the looks of it. About $2500 a good price for it? Is the night vision unit REALLY as good as, say, a Pinnacle PVS-14? A Night Enforcer?

Google turns up very little. Supposedly they are pretty new. But my concern is that if I can't turn up anything, even a price, how are these for sale for so cheap? Considering what they do and the fact they have an NSN number? Maybe knockoffs? Maybe stolen? Later search pages DO turn up a bunch of Chinese sites...

I'll probably end up going with a fine set of PVS-14's, "Night Enforcer" or something similar (since the wife shot down the AN/PSQ-20's, my first choice). But if these seem legit to you guys and worth another look, hey...

I'd rather go to Vegas and put all my money on black, I think I'd have better odds.

There are a couple very good NV dealers here, get in contact with them, they'll hook you up.

I wouldn't buy one unless your wanting to look cool with your airsoft gear. Buy from solid sellers for anything like this is my recommendation.

Save the airsoft shit. Read the bottom, I'll go with the 14's, those are what I have experience with, they work and work well. Not as well as the PSQ-20, but that is another animal.

I've just never heard of the Mantis. It DOES have an NSN number, so I was interested to get constructive and informative answers from those in the know, perhaps from someone that has used it and can compare it to, say, 14's and a PEQ-2A? Or something similar or equivalent?

Otherwise, just let it die. I have a pretty good idea of what kind of 14's to get, etc., and I'm aware of the good folks on here selling NOD's. But if you know of a killer price on the good stuff, give me a shout!
