I just got off the phone with the good folks at Vectronix since I have the bug for the Terrapin. I was curious about the warrenty. They told me there is a 1 year standard warrent, but it could be extended...
So, some questions to current owners of the PLRF 05 /10 /15...
Has anyone experienced any failures with these, what kind of conditions have you used them under, how long have you owned them and how many hours have you used them for (for example have you had to replace the batteries - I think they say the batteries are good for like 7000 measurements on the 05)?
I would love to hear this in terms of making a decision on the extended warrenty.
PS. They also told me that as long as the warrenty wasn't used. IE, you didn't purchase it at initial time of purchase. You can add it again later. I thought this was interesting since I might explore purchasing a used one. Before I did this, however I would be certain to verify again, in writing (email) with them...
