Suppressors SWR Omega 30 replacement?

Re: SWR Omega 30 replacement?

I was told the AAC Cyclone, or maybe the Liberty Freedom. Any opinions on those or maybe something better?

Not sure on price. This is my first one so I don't have a lot of knowledge on the matter just yet...

Re: SWR Omega 30 replacement?

In the same price range and also made out of heavy ass stainless steel is the Yankee Hill 7.62 Phantom. Its hard for anyone to give you suggestions for a substitute with the limited amount of information that you posted. How about listing your budget for the can, what guns are you planning using it on, how important is the weight/length of the can, anticipated firing schedules, etc.

Re: SWR Omega 30 replacement?

I'm hoping to stay under $1000 if possible.

I am looking to use it with my .300 WSM and .257 Weatherby Magnum.

Length and weight shouldn't be an issue. Lighter would be nicer of course.

It will not receive heavy use. Monthly perhaps and less than 25 rounds is my best guess.

Re: SWR Omega 30 replacement?

The RSTA on the group buy is $850 with the $200 tax reimbursement included, and is rated for .300 win mag / .300WSM with 24" or longer barrels using the brake mount. It does however go over the barrel and requires 2.55" rear of the muzzle crown to be no more than .775" OD.

Re: SWR Omega 30 replacement?

Thread on can, my vote would be TBAC 30P-1. QD can, my vote would be YHM 7.62 Phantom Titanium. Lots of info out there (and here) on each one if you run the search.

That looks like a nice unit.
9.25" long
31 ounces (kinda heavy)
$795 MSRP (didn't look to see if it could be had anywhere else cheaper).

Since starting the thread I've been looking at the TBAC 30P-1.
9" long
16 ounces
$1095 MSRP (found it cheaper here on the Hide in a Group Buy)

There are definitely some less expensive units out there. I REALLY like the video on that 30P-1 page. He's shooting a .308 there and the reduction in noise is incredible. Love it. Look forward to having something like this on my hunting rigs. Sound and recoil reduction? Awesome.
