Anyone know if the STANDARD AR Gold trigger will work in the POF-308?
From what I glean online, all info says the POF-308 lower receiver uses "standard AR-15" parts.

But...AR Gold has a "308" version of their trigger and says the standard trigger will not work in .308 rifles. So...???

Yep, one of my two ATC "Gold" triggers is the standard AR model and has for several hundred rounds now, functioned perfectly. Not having shot any nasty foreign Mil-Surp through my very expensive MA TEN, I cannot vouch for how it would function with cheap Mil-Surp.

Standard AR triggers work in 308s that take STANDARD AR triggers. Comee to think of it I don't know of any AR-10 that does not take a standard AR trigger. As for cheap Mil-Surp ammo. I haven't had any problems with light primer strikes or anything like that. I have also not have had any customers that have purchased run of the mill 308 ARs from my store have any problems running cheap ammo through them.

It's just a marketing gimmick. The trigger cassette comes assembled and ready to install in any Mil-spec AR receiver with ".154" holes and NO Colt "sear block ."

Re: POF-308 and AR Gold trigger?

The SR GOLD 308 version has a heavier hammer spring than the AR GOLD 223 version.

PACT also makes a few different hammer heights. Some 308 AR's have different height cocking lines, hence the need for different height hammers. The LaRue OBR, LMT MWS and KAC SR-25 all need the optional higher hammer.

Re: POF-308 and AR Gold trigger?

Most of the triggers that specify "308" are the same spec as the 223 version with a larger and heavier hammer. Some also use a stronger hammer spring, but otherwise they are identical. I had a timney 308 trigger and with the exception of the hammer, it was identical to the 223 units I have. I sold the 4lb 308 trigger and got another 3lb 223 unit and have never had any problems in my 308.

Its possible with cheap milsurp crap ammo you may get light primer strikes since the military stuff supposedly uses extra hard primers, but I have shot some paki surplus crap and lake city millitary over run ammo and never had any issues with the 3lb 223 model timney trigger in my POF308.
