I know the FL size vs NO sizing debate has been beaten to death, with respectable opinions from both sides. So I'm not going to ask about that specifically. My question is more about body sizing or FL sizing and how it takes away the advantage that fireforming gives.

Are the people for FL sizing just saying that fireforming really doesn't help in accuracy? I thought that was an accepted thing, or am I missing something.

I know the reliability advantage of FL sizing, but considering its never been a problem so far for me and I've got noones life at stake everytime I raise my rifle.. I don't really see it as an issue.

A body die is just an FLS die with no decapping stem or ability to size the neck.

Running brass into a die after it's been "fireformed" can kind of UNfireform the brass - but only if you overdo the sizing.

Play with it and draw your own conclusions. Me? I've had virgin Lapua brass shoot better than anything else, so I don't buy into the NS is more accurate concept.

What do you mean by overdo the sizing? I thought the sizing is what it is... As in the body die is a specific size, not an adjustable size.

How deep the case goes into the body die affects how much sizing occurs.

I would bumping the shoulder more than .005" is overdoing it.

No matter if you FL size every time or NS it has been my experience that brass produces smaller groups after being fire formed, IMHO this is because the case is exploded to the chamber, all the dings are moved out and internal volume is uniformed, no matter which system of sizing you employ the case is more consistent after fire forming
