Vltor bipod legs mounted on the side of an AX

Re: Vltor bipod legs mounted on the side of an AX

Its a good bipod for an AR-15 carbine if you are trying to keep the weight down and want a bipod for infrequent use. Aside from that steer clear its slow to deploy and even slower to adjust the height. The feet are well designed but the legs have too much flex (they are plastic) to load effectivly.

Its a good product for a certain niche so I dont want to come across as saying its a POS because I do think its well made, just not well suited for your intended use.

I looked at them for a while, but decided against them. They are basically the Tango Down bipod, without the cant/traverse feature. If I was going to go for that style of bipod, it would be on an AR SPR, and I would go for the Tango Down, instead. It would be much better for tracking moving targets with a semi-auto. I'd love to get one set up for hunting.

I really enjoy mine on my .338, much more stable and loadable than my Harris-equipped rifles. It is slower to change heights especially with gloves on but that is not a feature I employ often. I run it on an AI railed spigot adaptor from Atlas and to me it loads somewhat similarly to my TRG bipod I also really like.
I am also setting up my Manners T4 to accept the same spigot so I can run one there as well, so I guess you could say I like them.
I also ran a modpod on my SPR clone when I had that and liked it, but that was a short-lived affair so perhaps an insignificant data set there-
