I went to a small LR competition a few weeks back just to observe and caught the bug it was fun and although i haven't a chance in hell to actually be competitive i figure i will learn more if i compete along side guys and soak up the knowledge. so i have a very basic set up and was wondering what is actually Necessary. my existing set up is
-Rem 700 SPS varmint .243
-B&C varmint/tactical stock( arrives tomorrow)
-Atlas bipod
-Bushnell 6x24x50 ffp g2dmr(just ordered it and am waiting for it to come in the mail
)
-Rear bag
-Triad stock pack
-Shooting Mat
-A very cheap Bushnell LRF and spotting scope
-Reloading Set up to roll my own(not including chrono)
-Ballistic FTE iPhone app
do i have to have a kestrel and other stuff like that to compete and not look like an idiot or are there other things i need. also what data log book do you recommend? i have just been making my own sheets on excel with info that i think i would need to record
