I'm a complete beginner when it comes to the real long range stuff.. Are there any places to go to shoot out to 1000 or more in GA that are not private?

I'm that guy.. My suggestion about metal detectors would not have helped in that situation though.

If you are a complete beginner you need a place to shoot 100, not 1000. Start closer, work out or you will just be wasting money.

I'm a beginner to LR, not shooting in general, I can shoot out to 300 at my range and I'm tired of only being able to shoot paper.. We can't even shoot fruit.. And only to 300.. Gets old.

Just saying.... factors pile up quickly after 500. Long way to go before 1k.
