Monteboy84 bolt knob???

Re: Monteboy84 bolt knob???

Ok, as a new member of SH, what am I missing here? Is there some back story that makes him or his work bad juju around here now?

Searching the site for "bolt knobs" his work seems pretty popular, but 63 people have viewed this post and no one has responded.

I just want a bolt knob and his work looks like the best I've seen.

Matt (<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">monteboy84</span></span>), is definitely still doing bolt work, which IMO short of having Tac Ops do the work is the best work around. I'd venture that no one else replied because they don't know what's going on with Matt and they don't know for sure. I wouldn't rely on PMs' here - sometimes they're sent and go off into Never Neverland with no indication to the would-be recipient that a PM was sent to him or her by another Member (and the Sender also has no way to know that the Member the PM was sent to didn't receive it).

Are you a Member over at Sniper Central? I'm pretty sure that Matt is over there more than here. I would try sending <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">monteboy84</span></span> a PM over there as well as sending him another email. And since Matt hasn't replied to an email, it's also possible that he may be out of town and/or away from the computer. Or, maybe he's just really busy repairing bolt work done by a Member here - I know of several Hide' members who had Matt fix their bolts after said "gunsmith" worked on them.

Another reason why I feel that the TOBKC (Tac Ops Bolt Knob Conversion) is the best <span style="font-style: italic">aftermaket bolt knob conversion</span>. For those who don't know the preferred method of installing a TOBKC or the proper procedure (it's definitely not an easy DIY install, and I've seen some hack bolt knob installs posted here, including improperly-installed TOBKCs'), check-out <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">monteboy84</span></span>'s <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">" More bolt knob installation pictures"</span></span> thread for some great photos and an idea of what's involved in the installation.

Re: Monteboy84 bolt knob???

Ok, thanks guys. I'll try him over on the other forum as well as send another email. I was starting to worry that maybe this was a topic that "is not spoken of" or something.

I've seen events like that before on forums where new members weren't aware and I was starting to worry I was digging something up that shouldn't be.

Did somebody say my name?

I sincerely apologize for my absence, in February of this year I was granted a significant promotion at my day job, and have been spending a lot more (read: too much) time in the office lately. As such, I haven't been doing as much bolt work as I have in the past, but am still doing it, and am now preparing to do more than I have over the past few months.

I have a whole stack of PM's and email that have rolled in, and the honest answer is quite simply that I haven't been able to get through them all. I'll do my best over the next week to get back to everyone who's inquired, and find an upcoming weekend where I can hammer through some work. I know my communication has been lacking lately, but the alternative is to send a bunch of emails saying "I'm sorry, I'm too busy to take on work right now." or to take all of it on and get backlogged, which wouldn't be good for anyone.

Thanks for your interest,

-matt
