Two questions..I'm having High Caliber Sales build me a Mk12 Mod1. I have a larue billet upper receiver with the M4 cuts..I thought about having it build on this receiver or just the one supplied by HCS. Any recommendations?

Also, I was told these weren't issued with the SOPMOD stock, but it can be used on them. I'm considering the KAC sr15 ambi lower with sopmod to complete this build. I have two rifles with SOPMOD on now, and I really like that stock.

Anyone here ever have issues with running a MK12 with SOPMOD stock. I would replace the buffer with a H-Buffer as well.

Thanks,

Alan

Re: MK12 Mod1

Hey Alan,

HCS might have uppers built and ready to ship so sending your upper to them might end up taking longer depending on their build schedules and such.

It'll probably save you a bit of money though, personally I'd just buy a whole upper from them and either build yourself a spare upper (can never have too many uppers right? lol) or sell it in the PX, end of the day you'd probably end up in a good spot.

Sounds to me like you're going to get a sweet rig with the KAC lower, can't wait to see pics man.

Re: MK12 Mod1

Those KAC lowers are sick. CTD has them for $650...
Mk 12 upper from HCS shoots great with SW Ammo 77gr stuff.
Rock river makes a nice lower, also, but it doesn't have the snazzy stuff the KAC one does ( as I'm sure you already know).
But yah, I use an H2 buffer and spring in my mk12. No issues

Re: MK12 Mod1

OP,
My HCS Mod 1 shoots sub MOA to 600, which is as far as I generally go with it. Might be good farther, but I see no need at this time. I did replace the KAC trigger with a Giessel sp?
but otherwise all HCS build. It is my favorite AR. Some groups are amazing and the worst ones are very good.
