I've been working on loads for my new .260 and I think I've found a good one.
Lapua Brass, 139 Scenar, 41.7 grains of RL-17, set at 2.85 OAL. Here is my rifle.

First off, I'm a terrible 100 yard group shooter so these are pretty darn good for me! All shot within about 15 minutes, I didn't stop to let the gun cool down:

Here is a view of where I shoot.

Distance to the gong was 680 yards.

I even managed to hit a gatorade bottle at the same distance!

Re: .260 range report.

Nice work, I'm building my .260 now, with some parts I'm accumulating on here.... I have a Borden action, Bartlein barrel and Timney trigger. Really looking for a nice LH stock.
I'd love to find a T4 adjustable. Thanks for posting your load data.

I have chrono'd it, I'm averaging right around 2850 as well. This load for me is very consistent speed-wise. Standard deviation is below 10. This is all still with new brass. I hope I can keep it as consistent when I reload my brass again!

I'm a lefty as well but decided to stick to righty rifles...sure is easier to find parts that way! Good luck with your build!

Re: .260 range report.

I've shot a righty all my life but left handed.
I bought a HS precision .243 in left and have struggled like hell to get use to it. This .260 build. is only the second in my collection.

Re: .260 range report.

I tried RL17 in my .260 but found H-4350 to work much better. Significantly more accurate, less recoil and just as much velocity. 43.5 grains works great in my rifle but approach with caution as this is a pretty warm load.

I've used some 4350 but only with the 142 SMKs. They shot quite well. I'm going to stick with the RL-17 for the time being but plan on experimenting more when I have the time.
I'm going to do a thunderbeast training class in early Septemeber so I had to rush to get a good-shooting load done so I can make the required 250 rounds to take with me. RL-17 and Scenars showed the most promise off the bat so that's what I've stuck with.
I'm pretty confident that once I get some good instruction my groups with the load I'm using now wil tighten up quite a bit.

Thanks JT! It is a pretty nice setup other than being limited to 680yards. It is actually on a 2500 acre hunting lease on International Paper property. This spot happens to be the most out of the way place with a decent straightaway so no other members of the club can wonder into the way while I'm shooting. With deer season about to start it will end my long range plinking until January. Hopefully there will be plenty of bucks running around to aim at instead:)
