For your viewing pleasure is a rifle I just finished that was put together by piecing together a Ashbury Chassis System and a Remington 700 Barreled Action, both bought here on the HIDE!
I think It came out great and I am excited to shoot it.
I bought this barreled action: http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthre...573#Post3374573
After purchasing the barreled action I had it sent to Phoenix Custom Rifles (PCR) to have the barreld action cerakoted FDE to match the chassis. As you can see PCR did a great job of matching the cerakote and it came out great! Thanks PCR.
This gun was built by Jack Field about a year ago. I was told that it is easily a sub half moa rifle, and it only has 318 rounds down the pipe.
Specs:
-Remington 700 Short Action, totally trued
-PTG .308 Tactical Match chamber
-21" Rock Creek, 10 twist, 5R Barrel. (Its actually a gain twist barrel from 1-10 to 1-9.875)
-Barrel has 8 deep flutes
-This barrel contour, fluting, twist, and length is the exact spec that Ashbury Int'l has built by Rock Creek for thier .308 systems.
-Barrel has a Surefire .338 muzzle brake suppressor adaptor. This was the only deviation to the Ashbury spec, because I was shooting this along with my .338 suppressor.
-Entire barreled action is coated in FDE Cerakote.
-R&D precision bolt handle
-Standard Remington recoil lug, it'll fit into any stock.
And this is the Ashbury Stock I purchased: http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthre...563#Post3465563
A range report will follow and to be honest may be up for sale as hunting season approaches I need funds for equimpment and supplies.
NOW ONTO THE SHOW!!
