Has anyone own'd one of these rifles yet? If your not fimiliar they are a bolt action chambered in .223 that accept standard AR magazines. 24" fluted medium varmint barrel, fluted bolt in a 9 twist.

I ordered one and should have it by mid next week.

If anyone knows of a source for parts, I.E. basses and triggers let me know. Also if you have any experiance with them, what kind of accucary with what loads were you seeing.

Jake.

Re: Mossberg MVP any thoughts?

Shot one quite a bit, good stock gun for Varmint hunting, plinking. I was able to get groups in the .5" range, with handloads, mostly 50's and 60's. Never could get the 77's or 80's to shoot, think it needs a faster twist. For a "Barn Burner"? NO But to shrink the coyote population YES.

Re: Mossberg MVP any thoughts?

I just did a ten minute search and has come up with nothing in terms of aftermarket parts. I've heard that it is a decent rifle, but the lack of aftermarket parts puts me off.

Re: Mossberg MVP any thoughts?

Lol, A bolt gun with a 100rd Surefire... Not a Pro for selling in my opinion. AR mags.. Yes, 5/10 rounders. With the AR accuracy being so good, I don't think I'd have a use for one, unless they were 1/7 and could push 80's waay out there.

Re: Mossberg MVP any thoughts?

The mvp does have mossbergs adjustable trigger, similar to savage's.As far as a one piece base they had them on the night train atr rifle so someone makes one. email mossberg.I'm sure they would tell you who makes them or where to get one.

Re: Mossberg MVP any thoughts?

I almost bought one until i ran across an sps tactical at Dick's for $499....

they're nice guns if you can get them to shoot...i've seen a lot that apparently wouldn't, but some that would decently.

Also, make sure to check the front of the stock, right between the handguard and the barrel...i've seen 3 out of 5 cracked there

Re: Mossberg MVP any thoughts?

10-4 on looking at the stock... it is my intention to have my smith fit me a NF 20 MOA base and thread the muzzle. the intention of the purchase is to alow my AR to cool while shooting P-dogs with this gun. maybe a bolt gun will make the .223 ammo last a little longer.
