i like to shoot ten single shots and scrub after each with shooters choice then windex. Then 5 pairs and scrub after each pair. then 5 3 shot groups and scrub. then 3 5 shot groups scrubing after each group. Mite be alittle excesive but it works

Break in? Another option is just shoot it. We haven't broke in one yet and all are doing very well.
We use one of the cheap plastic ones and it does fine but would like to step up and get a better one someday.

I use that Tipton on my two Savages and it works pretty well. I've been really considering getting a Lucas for each stick though.

Mike Lucas makes the best I have had one for years for my Tikka and just ordered one for the new project rifle

On break in I have adopted the one JP Rifles sends shoot 20rds use JB bore paste and repeat 3 times then again at 300 rds.
The Bore scrubbing foam helps also after a 100 or so rounds and then every 300 to 500 rds
