So, I had been waiting for a few months. Got home yesterday afternoon and there it was. All I have had time to do is open the box and look at it. My initial impression is very good. The glass is very clear and fit and finish are great too. It does seem a bit heavy. I hope to get it in a mount and on an AR tomorrow. WIll get some pics in here too.
Yea, this is just a teaser tonight.

The scope weighs just over 18 ounces. It has a JM-1 (BDC) reticle in the second focal plane. This reticle design was a collaboration between Vortex & Jerry Miculek. Instructions explain reticle usage well and also refer you to the LRBC program on Vortex web site.
I intended on getting out to the range (or at least mounted today) but things came up and it isn't going to happen. The spec sheet shows this thing has 110 MOA of max adjustment. The turrets are graduated for 50 MOA in a single turn, using 1/2 MOA per click.
I'll be hitting Vortex with a couple of questions tomorrow. The biggest one is that all the literature and description on their website says it comes with flip up covers. There were no covers of any kind in the box.

He has the Vortex not the SWFA, whom had the combo promotion deal.

At first I thought it would be too. All other Razors are. Then I noticed on their web site (B4 the scope shipped) that it was SFP. I don't mind it. I had an opportunity to shoot thru a PST 1-4 FFP. For me, at least, the reticle was too small to be useful at the lowest power.

    Hows the illumination? </div></div>

A very bright dot in the center of the reticle. I have a hard time with red in bright sunlight. I am hoping this one is bright enough for me to see.
The control for illumination has a locking feature. Pull it out, turn to desired brightness and push back in. That locks it at that position. You don't have to lock it if you want to be able to move the dial though. Very neat.

I really want one for my 8.2" 300Blk, but would prefer mil/mil just because my other scopes are.

Although, I am wondering how much I will even have to dial it on this particular rig. </div></div>

Unfortunately, work has been occupying way too much of my time. I've been home three days in two weeks and nothing is getting shot. a buddy has had some time with his and really liked it. You can also check out Lowlight's thread on it.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have seen a bunch of reviews, and actually handled one at the NRAshow, so I know they are well done. Pretty sure this is the route I will go.

    Re: Vortex Razor 1-6

I had a NF Unimount that I wanted to mount it in for my LMT MWS. The scope is apparently larger than normal where the turrets are and it would not work. I really did not want to do it but I took the PST out of my AAdmount and used it for the 1-6 Razor. Man, I really like that mount!

    Re: Vortex Razor 1-6

OK. I got this scope to the range today. The sun was shining very brightly but the illumination was easily visible. That was a concern for me as red washes out very quickly in bright light for me. The glass is super clear and all the controls are easy to use. It zeroed quickly and, though I did not think I would, I liked the 1/2 MOA clicks. Eye relief was not an issue and the reticle focused in easily for my old worn out eyes. I know this is not a scientific examination but I give this scope very high praise. As stated earlier, I wish it came with some lens covers.

The Nightforce 1.125" high Unimount will not work with this scope but the 1.375" high Unimount will work with this scope.
