I am intending on using this for 22 steel shooting. What one of these scopes will work the best? I have included a pic of the rifle now that I have it built. I would prefer to choose from something Bushnell as i get a discount through my rifle club.

If you guys recommend something else please let me know.

Re: Reccomended Red Dot for 10/22?

I have a TRS I picked up at Wal Mart. It is pretty nice. I also picked up a Tasco there as well for $42 bucks. For what I think you plan to do with it the Tasco is all you need. The bushnell is nice but the Tasco is huge and for a speed match will be a bit quicker.

I built a 10/22 almost exactly like you have shown here for playing steel games.

Re: Reccomended Red Dot for 10/22?

I have two rifles set-up to shoot steel challenge matches with. One is a S&W M&P AR-15 in 22 lr and also a 10/22 ruger in a Nordic Component chassis that has is set-up like an AR. The 10/22 has a Primary Arms red dot sight. The M&P has an Aimpoint Micro dot knock off. Both are good cheap red dots for a 22lr. I also have a high mount that has a Burris Fast Fire II on it.

I put a tasco propoint on my 10/22 about 5 years ago when the were around $40 no problems except for batteries. I use a Cmore railway on the tacsol 22 AR upper, both are great dots optics that work like they should but the Cmore was way more expensive.

i have a tasco red dot, the cheaper one, and actually can handle recoil surprisingly well - i have one on a .357mag 6" revolver (after several thousand rounds) and my 12 guage 3.5" turkey / coyote shotgun (at least a hundred rounds of 3.5" turkey / coyote magnum loads) it's still right on, no loss of zero in either. 10/22 shouldn't phase it at all.

get the largest diameter one (42mm), there's less obstruction to the field of view.

truglo makes one, bsa makes one, and there's a bunch of others, i'm assuming they are all coming from the same factory just a different manufacturer stamp on the side.

there is also now and pressure pad adapter you can stick on to the battery cover that shuts off the juice in the event you forget to turn it off. (which is usually the case)

you can find the 42mm for under 50.00, and the 30mm for about 40.00 just about everywhere.

Re: Reccomended Red Dot for 10/22?

Just built a 10/22 with PWS T3 carbon barrel and all the goodies and then I got to the scope. Sounds like we are using the rifle in similar usage. The Burris Fastfire III with 3moa dot was the trick for me. Believe me I tried a few before setting with this one. SWFA had a good buy with the rail mount.

The TRS looks like a good option for the money.

I have run a Konus Pro-Atomic on my 10/22 and have been pleased with it.
